Horsham Corner Wood, Warnham

I pass this way from time to time on the way home from work as it is a quieter way home although the lane gets it's fair share of traffic. This view is looking roughly NE towards a little wood called Horsham Corner Wood. This wood is not near Horsham parish as it is well within Warnham, but it does stand on a sharp corner where two lanes diverge. My theory is that it was given the name as it is on a road that leads to Horsham and is on a sharp bend! The wood has been increased in size with new planting, but by the road there are old high banks which may indicate this is an old wood. There is also an old water filled stone pit for digging out Horsham Stone for flagstones and roofing just inside the wood to the right of the left hand footpath sign.
