Adelaide Street (Grain)

A delightful example the 'novum-concreto' period of architecture.

Parallels can be drawn here with similar buildings which were constructed throughout Europe from the mid 1960s.

The most significant examples can still be found in the former Yugoslavia.

Buildings like these were something of a status symbol, where from Ljubljana to Skopje and everywhere in between they were mainly reserved to house diplomats and consular staff.

Please note I know precious little about architectural styles, and even less about Yugoslavia. Having had to stand for half an hour waiting for (yet another) late First bus I appear to have some sort of man flu and am writing this under the influence of some kick-ass Nurofen flu tablets. Your understanding is appreciated.
