Carpet of blossoms...
...in front of the council chambers and there were road works and dragons in clouds in a blue sky. Taken at 8.00a.m. and I was guessing the temperature was 34 and rising.
10:04a.m and 38degrees just gone.
UPDATE:
In the early morning the brilliance of the sun climbing is gold. Air conditioner water runnels on the pavement. View bakery delivery van kerbside here.
The house inside is an oven of heat at 9am from accumulated heat and morning sun now on the front of the house.
No mistaking the meaning of the sign at the entrance to the council offices and the library.
When the sun reaches its zenith and the temperatures are climbing towards 44 and 45 and more, shadow and light merge to create an effect that is dull. I felt wonder walking through this mass of heat. That is the Dukes Highway on the elevation behind the lagoon at the creek and even the heavy traffic seemed stopped.
The birds on sunset screamed and twittered and swarmed in the palm at Hawke House here. The temperature was still in the low 40s.
My small camera cannot do proper justice to show you the moon here boldly turning pink in a trace of sunset that turned one end of town over the railway station and rail crossing pink and blue while directly behind me clouds over the setting sun made a molten display of gold and fire befitting the heat of the day and its evening here.
