Cotten

Juniper cones on the tree in our backyard. They seemed to glow in the early morning light as I was leaving for work this morning. I took several pictures of the branches and buds dusted with snow and had a hard time picking just one image for upload.

The original image is much cooler. I applied an HDR effect in Snapseed to emphasize the low angle of the sun and to highlight the wooden grain of these delicate little seed pods.
