Another scorcher of a day today in the low to mid 40's range, but thankfully the fire that was burning in Kangaroo Ground yesterday has been controlled today which is good news for everyone living around here. Only another two days of this extreme weather before a very welcome cool change hits on the weekend.

Our house has now heated up to around 29 degrees inside and is probably only going to get hotter over the next few days, one disadvantage with having a mudbrick house during these extreme temps is that they retain the heat and then slowly release it.

Also had a message from MsMun this morning that one of the chickens we have been looking after had died overnight, probably due to the excessive heat from yesterday. I had given them all a nice fine cold water mist spray with the hose to cool them down and we'd left huge ice blocks in their water for them, but it just wasn't enough, the heat had taken it's toll.

Our overnight low was around 28 degrees last night too.
