Working from home again;
On of the things I love about living somewhere new is the subtleties that creep up on you.
I know when I got the allotment last year I spent a lot of time there working how the sun fell on various areas, which bits were sheltered from the wind, which bits were exposed. It was all useful to know for when I finally got around to planting crops out.
In the same way as I spend time here, I work out how the sun comes in windows how the light and shade works.
And I had been working for a couple of hours and just made a cup of tea and was about to sit back at the table and work when the phone rang. So I diverted to the sofa and sat down. As I talked to her, I was aware of the shadows firstly of the cables, a skewed version of the cables themselves. And then the diagonals of the window frame.
She can be very understanding and I said I have o do something, I'll call you back.
3 minutes later, here we are!
A pleasant end to the day; I finished around 4, cycled to nursery and collected the wee one; he was delighted to see me; and then we cycled to the big yin's ASC and rounded him up too.
We walked back via Neill's bike shop, then bought milk at Scotmid and then scooted the half mile home down hill in fading twilight.
The sense of well being when I get the fed, bathed, read to boys to bed and see them as I snuggle down later on fast asleep, contented is enormous
