Baking Apprentice

This is one of my many informal baking apprentices. Today we made Apple Rolls for a meeting and a birthday. It's amazing how a simple recipe like this can be so fun when you make them together.

Baking is not a regular part of Thai culture. Almost no one grows up making chocolate chip cookies with their mom or apple pie with their grandma. So when I can bring those treats to share, both by teaching the skills and enjoying the results, many of my friends are eager to try.
