View to a coo ... or two

Our trip into Edinburgh to see the Cow Parade could have been blessed with better weather - but in spite of the rain, we all enjoyed it. Especially as the day also included some waving at trains from the bridge in Princes Street Gardens.

Having seen the same thing done in other cities, what struck me was how people interacted with the figures: elsewhere I'd seen them looked at as exhibits - but here, people seemed to see them as something to plonk their kids on, so they could take snaps on their mobile phone.
