January 15, The Blue Dress

My grandmother crocheted this dress for my mother when she was a baby, in 1948. In the last 65 years, my family has had professional photos taken of my mother, her sister, me, my sister, seven of my female first-cousins, my sister's daughter, and now my own daughter, all wearing The Blue Dress. Nora is wearing a pair of special, white baby shoes made in Italy, which we bought while living there.
