Trees are gone
The residents in the estate at the back of my house planted trees about twenty five years ago. The trees grew to about thirty feet and blocked out the light and the sun to my house and my neighbours. It was very frustrating when the sun was shining to have our gardens in darkness.
The people who planted them were able to sit in their gardens enjoying the sun, while we were in the shade for up to five hours each day. We usually did not get the sun back until about 3.30pm. Even when the sun came back they still blocked out a lot of the reflective light.
We tried over the years to do something about them but no avail. About three weeks ago out of the blue the local council sent in a tree surgeon and felled all of the trees except two. Happy days.
One of my neighbours wanted to keep two of them for privacy, but he had them pruned right down.
Even though it is October we have been enjoying the sun ever since. If you are being kept in the shade by someone elses trees, tell the relevant person or persons you never know what might happen.
