The Emperor

This little beauty is an Emperor Tetra, from South America. Like most Tetras (related to the Piranha), it has teeth. Unlike the Piranha, it is completely harmless (and it is also only about an inch or two long when fully grown).

This one is a male ... this is indicated by the long pointy tip to its tail.

Best kept in a nice big shoal with soft acidic water (but it is surprisingly adaptable).
