Tree intestine

Waiting for Stella to finish foraging under the leaves I noticed the bark was missing from a large patch of this tree trunk. On closer inspection it looks as though the ivy has forced itself under to really make itself at home! It grows rapidly on the outside but I'd never seen it do this before. I don't like it!

Wobbly start but on the whole a better day than yesterday, even took Mum to Tescos and got some birthday cards and presents. Headache has returned with the inclement weather but the biggest part of the day is done, on countdown to bedtime now :)
