a trip to wells next the sea.
the girls headed off to the shops so i headed out to sea.
there is a river that runs out to the sea. at low tide (as it was today) the river is very shallow but fast running. i paddled downstream, enjoying the push i was getting. i didn't expect the amount of eddies, currents, waves and other stuff that ganged up and kicked off when i got to the point where river meets sea. needless to say, i was chucked off my boat and swimming within seconds. problem was, the boat hit me on the head as it turned over...
still, after i recovered, i used the boat for the first time for what it was designed for. namely paddling out into the waves and surfing them back in again.
one in particular carried me superfast for what felt like 100s of meters.
another first was seeing seals in the water only 10-15m away. they just bobbed around watching me with a 'what the hell are you doing?' sort of look on their faces...
