How NOT to photograph the moon

Last night my husband mentioned that we had a full moon. I have never tried to photograph the moon before and, in my ignorance, I went out and did my best. I liked the look of the moon through the trees

Today I did research. Next time, I will work harder for the shot. I need to use a tripod, use a shutter release cable, set a low ISO and set my aperture at f/11 or f/16. Any other thoughts?
