Now here's a picture that belongs in the record of my year! This is where I go twice a week to help with Betsy's ESL class.

Today, Jaffar, one of our Sudanese fellows said goodbye to us after only two months. He, along with several others, are starting new jobs next week at the poultry processing plant. Their enthusiasm is remarkable. I know just a little of his story - it's similar to many refugees' stories. A wife and daughters waiting in Sudan. Three years in a refugee camp away from his family before coming to America. Learning yet another new language. Going to work in a low wage job. And still happy and thankful and hopeful. What resilience! What inspiration!
