WE'RE BACK!
Extra peanuts today to celebrate the birds returning to the feeders! Funny thing – these particular birds aren’t peanut eaters. I didn’t see the chickadees and nuthatches come, but I’m sure they did because the peanuts soon disappeared. (There's a new squirrel shield installed at this feeder, so I'm sure it wasn't a squirrel that got the peanuts.) What a relief – after three days without birds, I was beginning to think they either sensed danger or else preferred another spot. Today’s high was about ten degrees below freezing, but since there’s only a light dusting of snow, they should manage just fine.
