The Wall
My son and his girlfriend arrived from Delhi today. it is just so wonderful to have this time with them and this is the first time I have met his girlfriend in person... She is lovely. when we met we both commented on how much taller we each are than we imagined. Perhaps skype shrinks people! It is so special to know that there is someone who loves him so very much especially when he lives so far away.. in New Zealand. Unfortunately he had eaten some food on the train after the food had cooled which apparently everyone says is not a good thing to do and he is paying the price for that now.. I hope that he feels better tomorrow..
These rocks are to rebuild part of the beach wall built with the Tsunami relief money. The wall did not exist when we first came and it was a shock when this wall was first built. I have commented on it before as so much happens on this wall. People meet there, sit there, drink there, lay there. hang their washing there. I hope it never has fulfill its original purpose and I can't see how it could ever hold back a Tsunami but it does keep the high waters at bay. Some think that this whole area could be under water in 10 years time.. the rockes are huge and stark and I thought the BandW shows their character .. Each one is numbered too! Apparently so that they wont get stolen!
