Standing Stones

Work took me through the Wiltshire village of Avebury today. On my return journey I had to stop to take a photo of some of the prehistoric stones. The village has the largest stone circle in Europe and is one of our country's best known prehistoric sites. I was lucky that just as I pulled up, the sun came out and gave the stones shadows. These stones are sited just outside the village - they lead up to the main megalithic monument of the the three stone cirlces.
