Thistle Down

Vacation Time

Vacation is a glorious time,
For those who like to roam.
It is a time of sweet content,
For those who stay at home.

It is a time...when you let go,
And sort of jump the groove.
Your work can wait...so you can join,
A nation on the move.

You owe it to your family,
And your relaxing...take.
You leave to see the canyon walls,
And camp beside the lake.

You cast your line, on water's blue,
Your heart is light and gay.
And from this day, you'll live to tell,
How the big-one got away.

You marvel at God's handiwork,
In ways you are concerned.
You've had no time to be alone,
And now you're tired and burned.

It all has been so wonderful,
Since first you tripped the loam.
But now--the very best of time,
Is when...you're nearing home.
