I stopped by the Historical Preservation Office during walk-in hours. My goal was to find out how we get a permit to put solar panels on our roof, including 1 section visible from the street. It was a bit frustrating, because I had called to schedule an appointment based on what I had researched needed to be done. But the person on the phone told me to come in during walk-in hours. I waited for the two people ahead of me, and found out, of course, that I needed to schedule an appointment. Fortunately, it seems straightforward but the 'certificate of appropriateness' process will delay the permit by a month or more. Hopefully, though, it will all be done by summer.
