Quiet – 971
Today’s challenge is quiet and I decided to blip the ducks by the side of the pond after they had settled down are were being quiet, although I almost blipped some snowdrops growing quietly in the corner of one of our borders. This picture was taken from outside the house, a fair distance away; if approached they often take off or swim further on.
During the morning, the ducks were being very noisy and behaving irrationally, huddling together in the middle of the pond. I went outside to see what was going on and was nearly knocked over by two cats in a hurry to get back into the house; a lot of the garden birds were also squawking and flying into the trees. I suspect there was a fox on the prowl and that my presence outside persuaded it to wander off.
A day of doing not very much; it is cold and damp outside with grey skies threatening rain. The first Winter Aconites have appeared, in one of our large borders, although they have not yet appeared in the orchard under the apple tree; they are late this year. There are a lot more snowdrops coming out now in all our borders. The daffodils are poking their heads up, but no buds so far, although to be fair to them, it is extremely early to be looking for daffodil buds in a garden which is in a frost hollow.
