Lemon Flower

One of my sixtieth birthday gift was a lemon tree from friends. It was a very thoughtful gift and I am looking forward to G&Ts with a slice of freshly plucked lemon.

Receiving a living thing as a gift carries responsibilities. There are no lemon trees growing wild up here for a very good reason. So it is to be kept as a house guest with perhaps some time out during the summer.

I worry about its survival. And the expense of replacement for friends who come to visit. So I was delighted to see that a flower has appeared - this plant wants to live!!
