The Dopey Challenge

The one thing I love about SRC is showing up wearing the new running shirt from the race on the weekend before. Or in the case of my friend, he also wears his medals. This past weekend, he completed the Dopey Challenge. For those that don't know what that is, it's a 5k, a 10k, a half marathon, and a full marathon, four days in a row. Pretty Dopey, indeed!

I was supposed to be there, but I backed out at the last minute. Like the Nation's Tri, I deferred to the following year. Sometimes I'm just not ready to take the next step. This was one of those times.

In other news, I was surprised that he showed up to SRC today. Not only that, but he also was trying so hard to get my attention and talk to me. He sat nearby, talked very loudly, then eventually sat at our table and even said he wanted to play pool with me.

Jokingly, he said, "I was here first. If this is a divorce settlement, I get SRC." I'm sure my friends were confused about what was going on. I was giving him the cold shoulder, but eventually gave in.

Four days ago, he told me "I don't think it's a good idea for us to hang out for a while" and then gave me an ultimatum on our friendship. However, by the way he was behaving tonight, he clearly didn't mean what he said last week. Ok, I'll let him back in :)
