Jesters Ball

Rather a feeble blip today, I fear ...

It turned out to be a great night (and certainly a big change from what we'd normally do) when we eventually decided to go to the Jesters Ball as part of the Street Performers World Championships which were on in Dublin since Thursday. This was despite dreary weather during the day and dull skies and sometimes threatening clouds during the evening show. This guy on (very, very long) stilts kept the crowd amused until things began. Comedy acrobats stole the show in first half, while a guy doing a pantomime zebra routine was the big success of the second half. The final act was the reigning World Champion Street Performer. an Australian guy who calls himself Space Cowboy. He told us he's one of only 42 sword swallowers in the entire world (how does he know? has he met the other 41?), and then went on to do the most disgusting things with a meter-long double-edged sword.
