January Kingfisher

Regular readers will probably have noticed a few kingfisher photos before. They have become something of an obsession for me. Now I am back at my old job it has the advantage that I can go to the park at lunch time and look for the beautiful birds. It was finally clear weather but I didn't see any signs of kingfishers until it was time to head back to the office. On my way back I saw a flash of blue drop into the river and then shoot back to a branch. By hiding behind a tree and getting a bit muddy I managed to get closer and he stuck around long enough for me to take a few photos, although this is quite heavily cropped.
