The old and the new.

One of my recent sources of inspiration is the contrast I see between technological, glass and concrete filled, modern world and the more and more residual presence of a rural way of life. A time when animals where still shepherded and not kept in small cages the way they are today.
Are these two worlds incompatible? Shouldn´t it be possible to keep the two? Wouldn´t it be more sustainable?
