Jockeying for Position

Barriers full, light flashing,
starter at his stand, tensions begin to rise
and then suddenly "They're off!"
is the callers cry.

Round the bend, pulling hard,
zipping to and fro,
jockeying for that prime position,
into the home straight, tensions build again,
get out into the clear and drive,
drive hard to that winning post.
