Payne's Prairie

I ventured on bicycle to the southern entrance of this sprawling preserve to the visitor center. Cold crispy air. A deer met me on the road in, and an eagle flew overhead on the way out. An organism of egrets? ibises? cranes? danced above the prairie just long enough to find new grounds and softly land again.
