Priors Dean

Mr P used to live in Priors Dean when he was a small boy. It is a few miles from where we live now and the church, of Saxon origins, is quite isolated except for the old manor house, opposite.
In 1541 it was granted to Catherine Howard by Henry Vlll on their marriage.
It has been restored in 1857,1982 and 2009.
The Yew tree on the right is some 26' in circumference and is estimated to be 1300 years old, possibly dating back from the time the first Saxon church was built!!
