Bonjour!

What are the chances of bumping into a French couple after dining at The Hotel Du Vin in the centre of Birmingham? Probably slim! And this fine gent and lady were certainly born and breed in the midlands as they are my mom and dad, although pops looks rather French with his beret and goatee beard.

We finally used the girlfriends birthday voucher from last February in the bistro, unashamedly we all went for the ribeye steak which was lovely and came with more frites than you could shake a baguette at.

We avoided the shops as we needed to get back to go out again with friends in the evening but we still managed to buy a scarf and 24 doughnuts.

The evening was spent drinking in a couple of local pubs with the lovely soon to be married Jo and Si, we discussed football, weddings, hen dos and most importantly the stag trip to Budapest which is now less than three weeks away, so I seriously need to start drinking to prepare for the three nights of excess which will no doubt ensue.
