Old and new #4

Old Joe, Birmingham University's clock tower, is over 100 years old. It is the tallest free-standing clock tower in the world. Its official name is the Joseph Chamberlain Memorial Clock Tower.

The clock tower is seen here with the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital which was opened in 2010.The hospital is the home of the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, which cares for injured service men and women from conflict zones, as well as training Army, Navy and Air Force medical staff.
