43 Squadron - 'The Fighting Cocks'.

On the 19th January 1951, Flying Officer Malcolm Frederick Danton was returning to RAF Leuchars at a very low height at dusk when his 43 Squadron (known as 'The Fighting Cocks') Meteor F8, registration number VZ469, struck the ground north‑east of the base. He did not eject and was killed.
