Sunset....!

As the day drifts towards the end, so the sun slowly ebbs away towards the Horizon. What was bright and warm, shining for all to see, giving off light and heat, eventually dims and fades away - sometimes gradually sometimes it seems, in an instant.....and then for a number of hours - especially this time of the year - darkness takes over....but one thing that we can be sure, as night turns to day, the sun will emerge from the darkness once again to bring us warmth, comfort, light.

I write these words as a reflection for a those I know who have lost loved ones through their passing from this life - The "sunlight" that shone in their lives has ebbed away and suddenly those that are left are confronted with sadness, emptiness, darkness.

But the comfort that many of my friends have that is that death is not the end - as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, they have the comfort that they will see their loved ones again - not a wishful thinking .....a maybe......but a sure and certain fact - and why, because the Creator of the world, their Saviour, and their Redeemer has promised it so.

And for those friends, whilst it is still dark, and as you see the sunlight reflecting in the moon, may it be a reminder to you that this same sun will rise again - and may you take time to see the "Sunlight" of those lives, left from you here on this earth, reflecting on those people, places and things you see day to day.
