Gillipaw's Journal

Glasgow City Chambers, George Square, Scotland

My first night blip. Good to try something new, I am sure I will improve as the daylight hours shorten.

I attended a concert here, in the Banqueting Hall, this evening, music by young musicians. Piano, clarinet, soprano, and a string quartet. My favourites had to be a Haydn String Quartet, and two pieces by Rachmaninov.

The City Chambers construction began in October 1883 and Queen Victoria opened the building in August 1888. The interior is stunning - marble, alabaster, mosaics, tiling.
