The Dovecot at Blackness

David and I had decided to take a run down to Blackness to give the pups a wee change of smells and scenery . A lot of photographs have been taken of Blackness Castle but this old ruin caught my eye, I have passed this way many times over the years but have usually been playing hide n seek with the kids to give the ruin a proper look. It had originally been a pigeon house built in the 17th century ,it was used to provide eggs and meat to Blackness Castle. It was thought that it may have suffered from the English army who camped here during the 1650 siege of Blackness.
