6th Grade Celebration

The roller rink in Smithfield has been taken over by 6th graders. As a celebration for the 6th graders, the PTG has sponsored most of the events for the class.

It was shocking to see so many who can skate so well. When I grew up, roller skating was the thing to do on Friday/Saturday nights. Now, the skating rinks are only open on the weekends, and only seasonally. Clearly, these kiddos go to the rink at every opportunity in the summer months.

Parents, teachers and the principal mingled and talked while the kids skated. It was thoroughly an enjoyable experience, and one that the students will remember.
