Skater Boy

The Southbank along the Thames has for 30 years or so been home to a small skate/BMX spot allowing kids and some adults to hone their skills and, well, show off to passers-by and each other. However Lambeth Council have put forward plans to regenerate this area and build new retail outlets and so forth forcing the undercroft to close. This has caused some outrage amongst those that use it, and those that appreciate its significant place amid London's urban history. Boris Johnson has this week spoken in favour of preserving the skate spot.
