Flint castle

Today we visited Flint castle, this 13th century ruin is only about 6 miles from our house. Spent a very pleasant few hours walking in the beautiful sunshine.

It stands on the river Dee and was one of the first castles to be constructed by Edward 1 during his conquest of Wales. It also features in Shakespeare's Richard 11.
