The basketball field

A backboard be built face the vehicle road. It is nice to design an outdoor sport area in a community for residents, but why built it on the street? Especially, it is locate at the corner of the street that the view of driver will be block by the wall. It is too dangerous and also obstruct the traffic.
When design and built an structure, the function and location should be considered when design. What is the function? How it will be used by people? Is it convenient if it be built in that location? Will this structure obstruct other functional facilities while it be built in that location? All of these issue should be considered before construct it.
I understand it is a high density community, it is really have no enough space for a basketball ground. However, for my opinion, if it is not suitable to built an outdoor sport area that demand large activity space in public area of this community, why not give up it and to encourage the residents to built some of these things in there yard to instead some part of the lawn area? I believe the backboard be built at the house yard will be more useful and more safety than built at the road.
