Giant Panda, Queen's Park, Glasgow

The latest in a series of wooden sculptures by Robert Coia. Number 5 of 11, in the project 2014 Legacy for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. To be found beside the glass house in Queen's Park, within the railings, so only accessible from 10 am - 4 pm.

The sun was in just the wrong place to give you a view of the whole piece, a giant panda climbing up a tree. It looks as though it has been carved from a single tree. I must ask Robert when I next see him. His workshop is down at the Old Sawmill beside the weir in Pollok Country Park.

The next in the series is a Snow Leopard for Springburn Park.

Previous blips of the series here, taken in Pollok and Bellahouston Parks.
