Went to the local chateau for afternoon tea with some lovely friends (incredibly belated birthday present for one of them). Fantastic surroundings, slightly let down by sliced bread (albeit with crusts removed) and a tea-bag shortage. But the scones and cakes were delicious and it was an excellent way to spend a few hours.

Then saw 12 Years A Slave - harrowing, visceral and excellent. Go and see it.
