Flight Training!

This little house sparrow was being taught to fly today! His mommy and daddy have their little nest under our roof. We were aware of their activity the whole day long. The baby even flew right into our TV room window midmorning.

I got lots of shots of them. It was só sad to see the parents' concern! The little baby sat on the windowsill of the poolroom on the second floor whilst they were encouraging him to fly, but he was too scared!

They flew up and down, sitting on the roof and calling him, leaning over the side of the roof! He would turn his head up to them and make little noises as if he told them he is too scared!! The daddy flew down to him on a few occasions, sitting next to him and 'talking' to him! ;-)

He tried once, and I was fortunate enough to capture it!!

Then he fell back, onto the windowsill again! After a long time he suddenly got the courage to try again, and flew off, straight across our back garden, with mom and dad following him but then he came down, right on the paving in our backyard where C&R snr were busy watering the plants!

We were scared that Milo and Chino would hurt him if they discovered him and would want to try to play with him, but just before R could catch him, he flew up onto the courtyard wall and gone, we didn't see him again!
