Capricorn?
Brad Rude made this statue. He is a painter and sculptor and who lives in Portland, OR, has a chance to see quite a bit of his work in the Doernbecher Children's Hospital, where he together with Frank Boyden decorated Vestibule, main Lobby and Entrance Hall with his magical animals. They all have something that defies gravity and he brought this to perfection in pieces where f.i. a horse is lifting a hind leg and an elephant is balancing upon that lifted leg, all in bronze. I think it fascinating to watch these pieces.
This is standing in a beautiful building near the river, a former primary school, now transformed into a little museum and is one of his earlier works.
I guess that it was donated to this museum because these mountain sheep are a symbol of Nevada, they are depicted on our drivers licenses and on the back of the last series of quarters (coins) that represented a state each.
In the window behind the statue you can see a little bit of the blue sky of another fabulous day. It was still 12 degrees C around 5 PM.
I thank all of you who so kindly commented, sent stars and hearts for my Canadian Geese. I will not be able to comment on your comments although I read them all with great pleasure. Tonight we will be packing again to drive up to Oregon tomorrow for a short visit of our house in Florence. So let's see whether the internet works there tomorrow, so I can say hello to you again.
