Tonight, I took Mat to see the movie 'Her'. I chose it simply because 1) the previews looked good 2) the premise was interesting and 3) I'd heard good things.

It completely blew me away. It would be so easy to make a farce of the idea of a man falling in love with his intelligent operating system, but the movie was so incredibly sincere, heartfelt, and genuine. Yes, the premise is bizarre, but once you get past that, the film is incredible. Spike Jonze has done a phenomenal job writing and directing, and every performance is so real, especially the character created by Joaquin Pheonix. I absolutely recommend it.
