Keep on trucking

Home office day. Wife is sick (perhaps with what I had, perhaps with something she picked up in the warehouse of IKEA yesterday).

Spent the morning finding out more info on new companies and what they may or may not do/need in their lab. I was asked to call the customer helpline to get account info on them but they told me to email some random address which I didn't hear back form all day. Therefore I will have to call again tomorrow as need to submit details by 5pm to my supervisor.

The rest of the day was spent on a long and circular journey in order to pick up a new security door from the local hardware store for the wife's grandma, and the desk that we had been looking to buy from IKEA for the past two days - making it 3 trips in 3 days there.....

We drove in my car up to Rancho Penisquitos to swap it for a friends truck (pictured). This thing was huge! The crew cab alone had more room in than my car! A V6 perhaps V8 4.0+L engine gas guzzler at 15 mpg. Was great to drive it, being so high up. Managed to back it into parking spaces fairly easily and it fitted the door and desk no problem. Drove it to Santee to pick up the door, then dropped door off at wife's grandmas. Then drove to IKEA in fashion valley and got the desk, topped up the truck with gas as a thank you and then drove it back to ours to drop off the desk. Then drove the truck back and swapped my car and drove that home. All in all about 3.5 hours full circle.

Set up my desk, its real nice. Got a nice comfy chair on order, and made a wish list of stuff from amazon to make my home office nice and fancy. Will see how that pans out over the coming weeks.
