January 20, Hoh Rainforest

We drove along the gorgeous, northern edge of the Olympic National Forest, then dipped south through Forks (did NOT see Edward, Bella, or Jacob) and on down to Ruby Beach for a beach picnic while enjoying the sea stacks and driftwood piles. From Ruby Beach, we headed back north, leaving the wild, rugged coastline for the Hoh Rainforest, one of largest expanses of old growth, temperate rainforest in the world. It, too, is a wild place, making today one of beautiful contrasts.
