Back to Narnia

Saturdays dont come much longer than this one, seeing 2am before sleeping then room service rudely wakening me for breakfast, check out at 11, flight arriving home at 4.15 then into work for 8pm through to sunday at 5.30am is a bit of stretch but very worth it.

Flying into Queenstown is something I had always wanted to do, getting close to the mountains on approach to one of the worlds most dangerous landing strips, can't think of much better things to do on a plane. The view lived up to expectations as I peered out of the window, flying in over the town of Wanaka and Cardrona ski area was wonderful, seeing all the mountains and rivers from above for the first time was really satifying for me. Having always loved flight and getting a different perspective on things, I finally joined the thousands of others that fly into Queenstown every year and got that excitement of seeing this outdoor mecca in all its glory. Much better than my usual sighting of the number 11 bus while walking to work.

When the phone finally got charged up before work, there were 2 text messages from my brother telling me to call my mother because, bear with me here, his friend that lives here posted on facebook that I was proposing to my better half. Naturally, she found out about this and wanted to know more but there is no story because there was no proposal and no intention of one. It turns out that his drunken post was spurred on by 2 of my colleagues who kindly informed him of my romantic intentions. He had removed the post before I could comment or even see it. Good times!

In other phone related news, theres is a shiny new cover on my S3, courtesy of a great old friend, waterproof, shock proof, dust proof etc... Lifeproof cases dont come cheap and I give that wonderful man a big thank you for my new case.
