Sightseeing

I joined John and our son on a business trip today, first south to Albany, then over the Cascade mountains to Bend and finally over Mt. Hood back home. Most of the way was foggy, except high up on the mountains. Oddly, up there it was also warmer then lower down. We made a few blip-stops, and many beautiful opportunities I just gulped with my eyes as we zoomed by.
This is at Smith Rock, a beloved rock climbing area in the central Oregon high desert. There are over 1000 bolted routes, besides hiking trails and other recreation opportunities. Micah was telling us which routes he had climbed. It was so cold, yet even today there were people up on the walls.
I love the area; the smell of juniper wafts in the air and raptors are easy to spot!
