Definitely rust but what is it?

Not a great blip but a puzzle. Clue its in a living room.

A warm sunny domestic day - Made some lovely plum and ginger jam - almost rust coloured ( I am not really obsessed with it just got into the way of seeing it) and did lots of gardening, and caught up with a friend.
