Little Penguins at St Kilda Pier, Melbourne

Rookery has 1500 Little Penguins (formerly known as Fairy Penguins). Breakaway colony from Phillip Islands. Little known location.

Had to wait for them to swim to shore well after sunset (2030hrs). Only saw 4 this night (swam to shore) after 1.5 hour. Apparently, they can take 2-3 hrs to come on to shore. We left @ 2200 b'cos we were hungry! getting very dark, cold and wet from sea splashes!

This blip was taken under red-lighting so not to damage the Penguin's vision.
